Baseball Recap: Cherry Creek Comes Up Short

Cherry Creek was the 4-1 winner over Grandview when they last played one another on Friday, but their luck changed this time around. The Bruins fell just short of the Wolves by a score of 6-4 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Bruins have suffered against the Wolves since May 1, 2023.

Ryan Strouse got Cherry Creek off to a strong start despite the final result, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits.

At the plate, Ari Rothman made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Teddy Kleinert, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Cherry Creek's loss dropped their record down to 18-5. As for Grandview, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-7.

As of now, neither Cherry Creek nor the Wolves have any future games scheduled.
