Recap: Northwest Christian School Crusaders vs. Chewelah Cougars

There's no place like home for the Northwest Christian School Crusaders, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Saturday. They strolled past Chewelah with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 72-53. Given Northwest Christian School's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 129th, while Chewelah is ranked 272nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Northwest Christian School to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ben Slade, who scored 19 points. Slade continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Asher West, who scored 13 points.

Northwest Christian School's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Chewelah, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.

Northwest Christian School will finish 2023 at home by hosting La Salle at 5:00 p.m. on December 28th. One thing working in La Salle's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. As for Chewelah, they will head out on the road to face off against Tonasket at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Tonasket is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
