Baseball Recap: Union Academy Comes Up Short

Union Academy lost against North Stanly back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Union Academy Cardinals fell just short of the North Stanly Comets by a score of 6-5. The Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Union Academy got a good showing from Jaxx Rape, who tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Christian Pawl was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 1-for-3. Beckett Gurian also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Union Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for North Stanly, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

Coming up, Union Academy will venture away from home to face off against Ballantyne Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Ballantyne Ridge will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last. As for North Stanly, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Union Academy at 7:00 p.m.
