Riverbend waltzed into their contest on Thursday with 18 straight wins... but they left with 19. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against the Mountain View Wildcats. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 1-0 victory back in April.

Chloe King made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over eight innings while giving up five earned (and one unearned) runs off 13 hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ryleigh Livesay, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Norah Clark, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Riverbend's win was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Mountain View, the defeat snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 14-5 record.
