Vestal entered their tilt with Maine-Endwell on Tuesday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They came out on top against the Spartans by a score of 8-5. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 22, 2024, but that streak is no more.

Landon Pancoast made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Henry Lay was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Colin Fimbres, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

Vestal was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .379 or higher in three consecutive games.

Vestal pushed their record up to 9-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Maine-Endwell, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 3-2.

Vestal will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Spartans: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
