Baseball Game Preview: Middlesex Bluejays vs. Spotswood Chargers

For the second straight game, Middlesex will face off against Spotswood. The Bluejays will head out to challenge the Chargers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Middlesex's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Spotswood's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Middlesex fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Spotswood on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Chargers by a score of 10-8. The Bluejays have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

For Spotswood's part, they let Brandon Rivera and Will Buchan run wild. Rivera went 2-for-5 with four RBI and one double, while Buchan got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Buchan is becoming a predictor of Spotswood's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-5 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Romeo, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Middlesex's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Spotswood, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-5.
