Softball Recap: Winters Mill Comes Up Short

Winters Mill came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 11-1 to the Century Knights. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Falcons of the 9-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.

Winters Mill saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Natalie Furr, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Winters Mill's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Century, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Winters Mill is set to challenge their familiar foe Liberty at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Century will square off against rival Francis Scott Key at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
