Volleyball Game Preview: Uintah Utes vs. Orem Tigers

Uintah is 1-9 against Orem since September of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Utes will square off against the Tigers at 3:30 p.m. Uintah will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more sets each matchup than the last.

Uintah is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They came out on top against Murray by a score of 3-1. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Utes as it put an end to their five-match losing streak.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-20, 22-25, 25-16.

Abbie Davis and Autumn Edwards were among the main playmakers for Uintah as the former had eight digs and two aces and the latter had 20 digs and two assists. Those 20 digs gave Edwards a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Orem faced Herriman in a battle between two of the state's top teams last Wednesday. The Tigers walked away with a 3-1 win over the Mustangs.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 23-25, 25-16, 25-18.

Uintah's record is now 14-16. As for Orem, their record now sits at 25-3.

Uintah might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Orem in their previous matchup on October 2nd. Can the Utes avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
