Baseball Recap: Brandon Comes Up Short

Brandon made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Owosso, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Blackhawks fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 5-3 on Monday. The loss continues a trend for the Blackhawks in their meetings with the Trojans: they've now lost three in a row.

Briolat Kurt put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off nine hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (zero). He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Brandon now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Owosso, their victory bumped their record up to 20-6-2.

While Brandon had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
