Volleyball Recap: McGuffey Triumphs

McGuffey lost to West Greene back in August of 2019, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Highlanders came out on top against the Pioneers by a score of 3-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Highlanders.

McGuffey had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 25-15, 27-25, 25-15.

McGuffey's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for West Greene, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McGuffey will take on Brownsville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for West Greene, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Avella at 5:30 p.m. on September 9.
