Basketball Recap: Mattoon Takes a Loss

Mattoon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 59-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mahomet-Seymour Bulldogs. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Greenwave this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 82-74 back in December of 2024.

Mattoon's loss dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Mahomet-Seymour, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.

Mattoon will take on Greenville in a tournament on Saturday. As for Mahomet-Seymour, they will venture away from home to take on Centennial at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
