Recap: Dixie Flyers vs. Wasatch Academy Tigers
On Tuesday, the Dixie Flyers faced the Wasatch Academy Tigers in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Dixie fell just short of Wasatch Academy by a score of 62-59. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Dixie has suffered since December 14, 2023.
Dixie lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kyle Lemke, who scored 24 points along with five rebounds. Lemke hasn't dropped below 15points for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Weidauer, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds.
Dixie's loss dropped their record down to 11-3. As for Wasatch Academy, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 9-2.
Dixie will head out on the road to face off against Pine View at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pine View will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive. As for Wasatch Academy, they will square off against Jackson-Reed at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Jackson-Reed knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten matchups -- so hopefully Wasatch Academy likes a good challenge.
