Softball Recap: Bryant Hurricanes vs. Baker Hornets

Bryant was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Baker Hornets. The Hurricanes were not able to make up for their loss to the Hornets from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Madelyn Ladnier put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. What's more, she gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest she's had since back in February of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.

Ladnier wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Haley Anderson, who scored a run while going 1-for-4. Katelyn Hamilton also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Bryant's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Baker, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-7.

Coming up, Bryant will head out to face off against Fairhope at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Baker, they will take on Leroy in a tournament on Friday. Baker is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
