Softball Recap: Navajo Prep Drops Season-High Score on Wingate

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Navajo Prep). They put the hurt on the Wingate Bears with a sharp 28-3 win on Thursday. Considering the Eagles have won four contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Navajo Prep got a massive performance out of Jazmine Deswood, who fired off seven RBI, four runs, and two triples while going 4-for-5. Another player making a difference was Shianne Begay, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles.

Navajo Prep has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for Wingate, they now have a losing record of 1-2-1.

Coming up, Navajo Prep will square off against Northwest at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Wingate, they will take on Zuni at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
