Recap: Belton-Honea Path Bears vs. Emerald Vikings
The Belton-Honea Path Bears put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Emerald 63-7 at home. The result was nothing new for Belton-Honea Path, who have now won ten matchups by 28 points or more so far this season.
Belton-Honea Path's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Marquise Henderson, who rushed for 132 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Thomas, who threw for 106 yards and five touchdowns.
Belton-Honea Path's victory was their 12th straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 11-0. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-10 Emerald and 3-8 Palmetto (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 41.1% over those games). As for Emerald, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-10.
Belton-Honea Path will square off against Pendleton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Emerald does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
