Basketball Recap: Westmont's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Westmont had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.8 points) and they went ahead and made it seven on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Ida Crown Jewish Academy Aces by a score of 52-45.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Westmont to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sadie Scales, who posted eight points and 17 rebounds. Scales is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games she's played. Danielle Hoover was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Defeat or not, Ida Crown Jewish Academy got some senior leadership from Nina Ripstein and Talia Linzer. Ripstein scored 21 points, while Linzer earned 14 points. Those 21 points gave Ripstein a new career-high.

Westmont's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-9. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.1 points per game. As for Ida Crown Jewish Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 11-6.

Westmont will welcome Chesterton Academy of the Holy Family at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Chesterton Academy of the Holy Family is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.1 points per game this season. As for Ida Crown Jewish Academy, they will venture away from home to take on North Shore Country Day at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Ida Crown Jewish Academy also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 51.6 points per game.
