Volleyball Recap: West Platte's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

It was a good run, but West Platte unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-match winning streak on Saturday. They fell 2-0 to the Lamar Tigers. The Bluejays were not able to make up for their defeat to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

While West Platte ultimately came up short, they really made Lamar work, particularly in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 26-24.

Kendall Dover paced West Platte's offense, picking up eight kills. Dover got some help from Amber Rutherford and her 16 assists. Rutherford was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

West Platte's loss dropped their record down to 10-9-1. As for Lamar, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3-2 record this season.

West Platte has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against East Buchanan on the 25th. As for Lamar, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Southern Missouri RUSH on the 20th.
