The leading scorer in the nation this year with a 42.7 points per game average, Destiny Littleton of Bishop's (La Jolla, Calif.) moved into the No. 25 spot on the national high school girls basketball all-time scoring leaders list.

Littleton, the all-time leading scorer in California with 4,300 points, is one of 10 players in the top 25 to play only four years of varsity basketball. The Top 25 list includes athletes who played more than four years of varsity basketball, topped by Katie Antony of Anacoco (La.), who scored 6,190 points in six years on the varsity squad.

The top 25 list is filled with players from the states of Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Florida and Alabama, all states that allow non-high school players to compete on high school varsity teams. California does not allow for this possibility.

Also making the list is Louisiana junior Andrea Cournoyer, who has 4,457 career points. The Merryville guard has a chance to become just the second player in U.S. history to score over 6,000 career points.

This list differs from the National Federation of High Schools Record Book, which only includes statistics compiled for varsity competition from ninth to 12th grade.

Information for the list was compiled using the NFHS Record Book, state association record books, other state historic websites, MaxPreps leaderboards and other Internet research.
