Basketball Recap: Coleville Takes a Loss

In Monday's Canine Competition, Coleville had to take the L. They fell to the Mammoth Huskies 37-33. The loss continues a trend for the Wolves in their matchups with the Huskies: they've now lost three in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Coleville lost on Monday, don't look at JayMarion Swan. Despite the final result, he went 7 for 13 on his way to 16 points in addition to eight rebounds and six steals. With that strong performance, Swan is now averaging an impressive 2.4 steals per game.

Coleville's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Mammoth, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 2-5 record.

Coleville will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Pyramid Lake at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for Mammoth, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 80-46 defeat against Lone Pine on the 17th.
