Football Recap: Tri Skates Past Union County with Ease

Tri got themselves on the board against Union County on Friday, but Union County never followed suit. They blew past the Patriots, posting a 63-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Titans in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won seven in a row.

Isaiah Dewitt had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 77 yards and three scores. He was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 58 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Zavier Hanson, who gained 67 total yards and two touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Tri was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 251 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 187 rushing yards in 15 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Tri didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Kain Knepley, Cooper Engle, and Jonah Cox picked up one apiece. Knepley is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least five every time he's taken the field this season. Engle got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Tri now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Union County, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-8.

Tri has already played their next game, a 45-7 victory against Wes-Del on the 24th. As for Union County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 72-0 defeat against Eastern Hancock on the 24th.
