Basketball Recap: Roanoke Catholic's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Nine

Roanoke Catholic had won eight straight games and Jayden Johnson did his part to make it nine on Monday. The Roanoke Catholic Celtics skirted past the Radford Bobcats 55-53 thanks in part to Johnson, who went 7 for 15 on his way to 19 points. The contest was his 11th in a row with at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Gary S. Walker, who posted five points and four steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in steals.

Roanoke Catholic has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 14-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.0 points per game. As for Radford, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.

Roanoke Catholic wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, an 82-58 loss against Miller School of Albemarle on the 28th. As for Radford, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 75-44 victory against Patrick County on the 29th.
