The Fairmont Prep Huskies came tearing into Monday's matchup with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took down Capistrano Valley Christian 66-51. Given Fairmont Prep's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 74th, while the Eagles are ranked 385th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

When it comes to explaining why Capistrano Valley Christian lost, one person who can't be blamed is Michael Ahern. Despite the final result, he scored 18 points. Ahern has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last three times he's played. Isaiah Dignadice was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six rebounds.
