Baseball Game Preview: Taft Toreadors vs. Carson Colts

The Taft Toreadors will take on the Carson Colts at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Taft is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They skirted past Roosevelt 4-3. The game was the first time the Toreadors have beaten the Rough Riders on their field since May 15, 2015.

Meanwhile, Carson entered their tilt with Palisades on Saturday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Dolphins a 6-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Colts, who have now won ten games by six runs or more so far this season.

Taft has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-23 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Carson, their victory bumped their record up to 17-13.

Taft suffered a grim 13-2 defeat to Carson in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Toreadors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
