Volleyball Recap: Gilbert Classical Academy Takes a Loss

Gilbert Classical Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Valley Christian Trojans.

Gilbert Classical Academy was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Valley Christian work for it, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 26-24, 25-14.

Despite the loss, Gilbert Classical Academy still got an impressive performance from Ethan Cork, who had 12 digs and one assist. Cork has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last three times he's played.

Travis Christy was the offensive standout of the match as he had ten digs and two assists.

Gilbert Classical Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Valley Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.

Gilbert Classical Academy will face off against Gilbert Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Valley Christian, they will take on Northwest Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
