Basketball Recap: North Callaway Extends Winning Streak to Two

North Callaway won the last time they faced Missouri Military Academy, and Austin Brown did his part to make sure it happened again. The North Callaway Thunderbirds took down the Missouri Military Academy Fighting Colonels 68-49 on Monday with plenty of help from Brown, who went 6-for-8 from beyond the arc en route to 25 points. What's more, he posted four boards, the most he's had since back in January.

Another player making a difference was Jacob Blevins, who put up 15 points along with five assists and five rebounds. North Callaway is 2-1 when Blevins posts 15 or more points, but 9-14 otherwise.

Several Fighting Colonels players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mateo Eaton Villareal, who scored 12 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. Eaton Villareal is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Trimmer, who had 14 points and four steals.

The victory made it two in a row for North Callaway and bumps their season record up to 11-15. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.5 points over those games. As for Missouri Military Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 11-13.

North Callaway has already played their next match, an 82-35 defeat against Montgomery County on the 26th. Missouri Military Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
