Football Recap: Jasiah Hopkins and Corey Dobbs Secure Win for George Washington

George Washington's game on Friday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 20-8 win over the Harrison Panthers. For the Patriots, this counts as revenge for the 30-18 victory the Panthers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

George Washington was led to victory by Corey Dobbs and Jasiah Hopkins. Dobbs rushed for 81 yards and one score on only six carries, while Hopkins rushed for 101 yards and one TD on only ten carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: George Washington was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 307 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Harrison only rushed for 176 rushing yards.

The win got George Washington back to even at 1-1. As for Harrison, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. George Washington will square off against Kennedy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Harrison, they are packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will challenge Pueblo County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
