Baseball Recap: Moriah Vikings vs. Beekmantown Eagles

Moriah fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Beekmantown on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 4-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Vikings of the 8-7 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Joe Pelkey was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over eight innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits. Pelkey was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, Owen Bobbie made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.
