Volleyball Recap: Winter Springs Takes a Loss

Winter Springs entered their contest against Belen Jesuit on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Bears took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wolverines.

Winter Springs was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-19.

Skyler Martinez paced Winter Springs' offense, picking up ten kills. Martinez got some help from Zeke Register and his 20 assists. Finally, Martinez was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.

Winter Springs' loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Belen Jesuit, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-7.

Winter Springs wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 win against University on the 4th. As for Belen Jesuit, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Dr. Joaquin Garcia on the 4th.
