Football Recap: Cannon County Skates Past Pickett County with Ease

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Providence Christian Academy, Cannon County was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They blew past the Pickett County Bobcats, posting a 61-0 win. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Lions considering their 13-point performance the matchup before.

The critical scores for Cannon County came from Connor Davis, Jacob Keller, Carson Byrom, and Jaxsen Miles.

Cannon County didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Davis led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Special teams played a big role in the game for Cannon County, adding 11 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Miles, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Cannon County pushed their record up to 2-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 42.0 points over those games. As for Pickett County, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.
