Volleyball Game Preview: Viewmont Vikings vs. Box Elder Bees

The Viewmont Vikings will take on the Box Elder Bees at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Viewmont is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest loss since May 16, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to Bountiful. The Vikings have struggled against the RedHawks recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

While Viewmont had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 21 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-21, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Box Elder put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Northridge. While the Bees didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

The final score came out to 25-10, 25-10, 25-18.

Box Elder's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-0. As for Viewmont, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 8-5.

Viewmont was able to grind out a solid victory over Box Elder in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 3-1. Will Viewmont repeat their success, or does Box Elder has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
