Basketball Game Preview: George Jenkins Eagles vs. Auburndale Bloodhounds

George Jenkins is 2-8 against Auburndale since November of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The George Jenkins Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the Auburndale Bloodhounds at 8:00 p.m.

George Jenkins is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest loss since November 18, 2024 on Wednesday. They were beaten by Tampa Catholic 100-40. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 56-25.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Maso Pierpont, who posted ten points. Cameron Sanders was another key player, putting up six points.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Auburndale). Everything went their way against Vanguard on Thursday as Auburndale made off with an 83-61 win. The Bloodhounds have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 20 points or more this season.

Auburndale is also on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.6 points per game. As for George Jenkins, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-8.

George Jenkins couldn't quite finish off Auburndale in their previous meeting back in January of 2024 and fell 55-52. Can George Jenkins avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
