Basketball Recap: Bishop Hartley Drops Season-High Score on Walnut Ridge

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bishop Hartley). They really took it to the Walnut Ridge Scots for the full four quarters, racking up a 72-31 win. Given the Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while the Scots are ranked 615th), the result on Monday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Several Scots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nyah Hubbard, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds. That was a full 61.3% of Walnut Ridge's points, marking the third time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Mariah Holt was another key player, putting up four points and 12 boards.

Bishop Hartley is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.9 points over those games. As for Walnut Ridge, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-13.

As of now, neither Bishop Hartley nor Walnut Ridge have any future games scheduled.
