Softball Recap: Nathan Hale Extends Winning Streak to Three

Nathan Hale waltzed into their game on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Evergreen Wolverines.

Gigi Drohan made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off seven hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Ella Fialdini was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Caitlin Low, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Nathan Hale was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .533. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .310 or higher in four consecutive matches.

Nathan Hale's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-12. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Evergreen, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 13-5 record.

As of now, neither Nathan Hale nor the Wolverines have any future games scheduled.
