Basketball Game Preview: South Johnston Trojans vs. East Wake Warriors

South Johnston hasn't had much luck against East Wake recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The South Johnston Trojans just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the East Wake Warriors at 6:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Monday, South Johnston came up short against Fike and fell 67-60.

Meanwhile, East Wake waltzed into their match on Monday with 15 straight wins... but they left with 16. They took down the Spartans 85-70. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 120th, while the Spartans are ranked 567th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

East Wake's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-7. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.8 points over those games. As for South Johnston, their loss dropped their record down to 11-13.

South Johnston ended up a good deal behind East Wake in their previous matchup on Tuesday, losing 72-54. Can South Johnston avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
