Providence Academy had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.3 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. They put the hurt on the Shelton Chargers with a sharp 52-30 win. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Providence Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Piper McIlrath out in front who posted 15 points and seven steals. McIlrath's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Katie Clay was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on ten points and nine assists.

Providence Academy's win bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Shelton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Providence Academy will face off against Varsity Opponent at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Shelton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Trinity Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
