Basketball Game Preview: White Knoll Timberwolves vs. River Bluff Gators

The White Knoll Timberwolves will head out on the road to take on the River Bluff Gators at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. White Knoll will be strutting in after a victory while River Bluff will be coming in after a defeat.

White Knoll is headed into the match after thoroughly thrashing Chapin: they outscored them in every quarter. White Knoll came out on top against Chapin by a score of 50-37 on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Timberwolves.

White Knoll got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Shaelyn Hayes out in front who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 boards. Hayes is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. Another player making a difference was Emory Waters-Inman, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds.

White Knoll smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, River Bluff was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They came up short against Dutch Fork, falling 54-28. While losing is never fun, the Gators can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 100th, while the Silver Foxes are ranked fifth).

River Bluff's defeat dropped their record down to 8-12. As for White Knoll, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.

Everything came up roses for White Knoll against River Bluff in their previous matchup on January 9th, as the team secured a 61-18 victory. In that match, White Knoll amassed a halftime lead of 26-6, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
