Baseball Recap: Dardanelle's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Dardanelle never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They blew past the Mena Bearcats 11-0. Winning may never get old, but the Sand Lizards sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Chase Weatherford made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four RBI and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Dardanelle's success: when he posts at least three hits the team is undefeated (and 10-11 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Cam Evans was incredible, going 4-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Emmanuel Cabral was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Dardanelle was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Dardanelle's victory bumped their record up to 13-11. As for Mena, with the loss, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dardanelle will challenge Nemo Vista at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mena, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ozark at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
