Fillmore proved they can win big on Monday (they won by 15) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Cuba-Rushford Rebels 5-3. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 5-3 on Wednesday.

Fillmore has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Cuba-Rushford, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Fillmore beat the Rebels by a score of 5-3 later that day.
