Soccer Game Preview: Simsbury vs. Plainville

The Simsbury Trojans will challenge the Plainville Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Plainville took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Simsbury, who comes in off a win.

Simsbury took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Bloomfield as they made off with an 8-1 victory. The result was nothing new for Simsbury, who have now won six contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Plainville faced Tolland in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Blue Devils fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 3-2. Plainville haven't had much luck with Tolland recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Simsbury has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 31 goals over those six matchups. As for Plainville, their loss dropped their record down to 10-3-3.

Simsbury took their victory against Plainville when the teams last played back in October of 2022 by a conclusive 4-1 score. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Blue Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
