Basketball Recap: Tarbut V' Torah Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Tarbut V' Torah easily dispatched First Baptist on Tuesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Lions fell just short of the Pioneer Titans by a score of 58-55 on Thursday. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Titans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

When it comes to explaining why Tarbut V' Torah lost, don't look at Ari Varon. Despite the final result, he went 9-for-21 en route to 24 points and seven rebounds. Varon's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 18 points. Jonathan Groner was another key player, putting up seven points in addition to 12 boards and three blocks.

Tarbut V' Torah's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Pioneer, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

Looking ahead, Tarbut V' Torah will look to defend their home court on Monday against Vista Meridian at 4:15 p.m. As for Pioneer, they will take on Calvary Chapel in a tournament on Monday.
