Basketball Game Preview: Unadilla Valley Storm vs. Walton Warriors

Unadilla Valley is 1-9 against Walton since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Unadilla Valley Storm will challenge the Walton Warriors at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Unadilla Valley is headed into Monday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Friday. They lost 56-32 to Delaware Academy. While losing is never fun, the Storm can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 479th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 163rd).

Meanwhile, Walton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against Delaware Academy, falling 48-24.

Despite the loss, Walton saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Grace Walley posted 11 points. That was a full 45.8% of Walton's points, marking the seventh time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points.

Walton's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-8. As for Unadilla Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.

Unadilla Valley suffered a grim 52-30 defeat to Walton in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Walley, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 14 boards.
