Basketball Recap: Heritage Beats Independence for Their 12th Straight Win

Heritage waltzed into their game on Tuesday with 11 straight wins... but they left with 12. They came out on top against the Independence Knights by a score of 69-58. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 65-54 back in January.

Heritage was led to victory by Cameron Lomax and Bryson Howard. Lomax went 7 for 12 en route to 18 points and three steals, while Howard dropped a double-double with 12 points and 15 rebounds. Lomax's evening made it 14 games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Mikhail Patel, who posted nine points and six boards.

Heritage pushed their record up to 28-4 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. As for Independence, they now have a losing record at 16-17.

Coming up, Heritage will challenge Wakeland at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Heritage knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Wakeland likes a good challenge. Independence does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
