Baseball Game Preview: Glenn Eagles vs. Cabrillo Jaguars

The Glenn Eagles will take on the Cabrillo Jaguars at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Cabrillo took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Glenn, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with six losses in a row, Glenn turned things around against South Gate on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 9-1 margin over the Rams. The Eagles' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Bert Rodriguez made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. Rodriguez was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Angel Aguilar, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Raymond Acosta also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, Cabrillo fell victim to La Sierra and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. The Jaguars' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Cabrillo's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Glenn, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.

Glenn was able to grind out a solid victory over Cabrillo in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, winning 10-6. Does Glenn have another victory up their sleeve, or will Cabrillo turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
