Basketball Recap: Somerset Takes a Loss

Somerset was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat. They were dealt a 73-39 loss at the hands of the Bedford Bisons. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 68-46 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.

Somerset lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jacob Stoy, who went 6 for 11 en route to 12 points. The dominant performance gave Stoy a new career-high in points. Dean Hostetler also deserves some recognition as he pulled down his first rebound of the season.

Jacob Wilson had an outrageously good game for Bedford as he went 10 of 15 on his way to 26 points and six steals. With that strong performance, Wilson is now averaging an impressive 2.5 steals per game. Another player making a difference was Quincy Swaim, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine boards.

Somerset's loss dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Bedford, the win snapped their losing streak at ten games and leaves them with a 3-12 record.

Somerset didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 113-56 defeat against Chestnut Ridge on the 29th. Bedford has also already played their next matchup, a 68-61 loss against Central Cambria on the 29th.
