Football Game Preview: Sauquoit Valley Indians vs. New York Mills Marauders

The Sauquoit Valley Indians will head out on the road to challenge the New York Mills Marauders at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Sauquoit Valley will be strutting in after a win while New York Mills will be coming in after a loss.

Sauquoit Valley is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New York's top teams: West Canada Valley, who was ranked 18th at the time (Sauquoit Valley was ranked 11th). The Indians were the clear victors by a 41-20 margin over the Nighthawks on Friday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Indians considering their seven-point performance the game before.

Meanwhile, New York Mills was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were beaten by Frankfort-Schuyler 72-20.

Sauquoit Valley's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for New York Mills, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Sauquoit Valley didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against New York Mills when the teams last played back in October of 2024, but they still walked away with a 26-22 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
