Basketball Game Preview: Armuchee Indians vs. Gordon Central Warriors

The Armuchee Indians will face off against the Gordon Central Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Armuchee is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.7 points per game this season.

Armuchee took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They took down Haralson County 67-53.

Trenton Cothran was a one-man wrecking crew for Armuchee as he dropped a double-double on 26 points and 12 boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which Cothran has scored at least a third of Armuchee's points. Carter Griffin was another key player, putting up eight points along with five assists and five rebounds.

Armuchee smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Gordon Central entered their match against Chattooga on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Gordon Central fell just short of Chattooga by a score of 53-50.

Armuchee's win bumped their record up to 4-11. As for Gordon Central, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-5.
