Springtown is 8-2 against Decatur since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Porcupines will look to defend their home field against the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Springtown 3.6, Decatur 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.

On Thursday, Springtown needed a bit of extra time to put away Castleberry. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Lions. The Porcupines haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, after a string of seven wins, Decatur's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They came up short against Eagle Mountain, falling 6-0. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Eagles' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Blaze Grider was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out 13 batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

Springtown's victory bumped their record up to 15-8-1. As for Decatur, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 9-1 and their overall record down to 15-14-1.

Springtown skirted past Decatur 7-6 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Will the Porcupines repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
