Baseball Game Preview: Enka Jets vs. Erwin Warriors

The Enka Jets are taking a road trip to square off against the Erwin Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Enka has given up an average of 7.3 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Draughn hit Enka with a nine-run third inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Jets came up short against the Wildcats, falling 12-2.

Enka saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Anderson, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one double.

Erwin never got on the board in their matchup two weeks ago, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Enka last Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Jets with a sharp 12-6 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Warriors' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Erwin's victory bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Enka, their loss dropped their record down to 5-11.

Enka might still be hurting after the 12-6 defeat they got from Erwin in their previous matchup last Tuesday. Can the Jets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
