Basketball Recap: Morgan Park Takes a Loss

Morgan Park lost against Amundsen back in November of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Morgan Park Mustangs received a blow as they fell 60-41 to the Amundsen Vikings.

Jane Belmont was nothing short of spectacular for Amundsen: she went 7 of 15 en route to 22 points. Another player making a difference was Charlii Lopez, who posted 11 points and five assists.

Morgan Park dropped their record down to 2-2 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Amundsen, their record now sits at 2-5.

Morgan Park wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 66-36 loss against Crane Medical on the 9th. As for Amundsen, they will head out to square off against Kenwood at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Kenwood knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matchups -- so hopefully Amundsen likes a good challenge.
