Tarboro extended their winning streak (dating back to last season) to 16 on Friday, bumping them up to 6-0. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 56-16 victory over the Greene Central Rams. The Vikings' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Tarboro's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kamerin McDowell-Moore, who rushed for 139 yards and two scores on only 14 carries, and also caught one TD. Another rusher making a difference was Caiden Everette, who rushed for 118 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 13 carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Tarboro was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 343 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 196 rushing yards in 18 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Another reason for the win was Tarboro's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Tyler Powell was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself.

As for Greene Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-2. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 204th, while Tarboro is ranked 38th).

Several Rams players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Joshua Cetnar, who threw for 86 yards and a pair of TDs, and also rushed for 36 yards.

Tarboro didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 55-14 victory against Farmville Central on the 10th. As for Greene Central, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 32-31 loss against Kinston on the 10th.
